  1. Goodbye!published at 22:45 GMT 17 December

Three wins from three for WSL teams tonight, one straight into the last eight and the others seeded in the play-offs.

Pretty good night all round for English women's football.

We will be back tomorrow with live text coverage of the knock-out draw at 12.00 GMT, where Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United will have their path to Oslo and glory laid out.

    Hope to see you then.

  2. Man Utd seeded in play-offs after winpublished at 22:43 GMT 17 December

    FT: Juventus 0-1 Man Utd

Manchester United secured a seeded spot in the draw for the Women's Champions League knockout phase play-offs with victory over Juventus.

England international Jess Park scored the game's only goal, curling the ball into the far corner early in the first half at Allianz Arena in Turin.

Marc Skinner's side, playing in the league phase for the first time, completed it with four wins from six matches.

They can be pleased with that achievement - rounded off with a hard-earned victory in Italy against an in-form Juventus side.

  3. Arsenal into play-offs despite winpublished at 22:42 GMT 17 December

    FT: OH Leuven 0-3 Arsenal

    Michael Emons
    BBC Sport

Reigning holders Arsenal had to settle for a place in the Champions League knockout play-offs despite securing an impressive victory over Leuven in Belgium.

The Gunners, who beat Barcelona 1-0 in last season's final to become European champions, needed three points to have any chance of finishing in the top-four places and moving straight into the quarter-finals.

However, despite goals from Olivia Smith and Beth Mead and an own goal from Saar Janssen helping them to a convincing win, they came fifth in the league phase, one point behind fourth-placed Bayern Munich.

That means Renee Slegers side will now have a two-legged play-off in February against opponents to be determined in the draw at 12:00 GMT on Thursday.

Arsenal will either face Spanish side Atletico Madrid or have an instant rematch against Leuven, who finished 12th in the league phase.

  4. Kerr and Bronze send Blues into quarterspublished at 22:41 GMT 17 December

    FT: Wolfsburg 1-2 Chelsea

    Gary Rose
    BBC Sport

Chelsea ensured they qualified automatically for the Women's Champions League quarter-finals as they came from behind to beat Wolfsburg.

Goals from Lucy Bronze and Sam Kerr secured the win that gave Chelsea a top-four finish in the league phase.

But it certainly was not easy for the Blues as Wolfsburg were the better side for much of the first half and deservedly took the lead in the 16th minute.

A poor clearance by Chelsea goalkeeper Livia Peng was nodded back towards goal by Janou Levels and Alexandra Popp let the ball bounce in front of her before striking in on the half-volley.

Wolfsburg had chances to further extend their lead but were dealt a blow just before half-time when Bronze equalised, heading in from a corner.

The balance of play switched after that with Chelsea the better side in the second half.

They hit the post through Alyssa Thompson, and Kerr secured the win with a looping header.

I think Leah Williamson being back is a massive plus for them. Kim Little being back, you'll start to see Arsenal click into gear.

They've not had a great start to the season but I believe in this team. I think they've got more to offer but we're not firing on all cylinders live we've seen under Renee Slegers.

  6. 'Arsenal showed ruthlessness tonight'published at 22:35 GMT 17 December

    FT: OH Leuven 0-3 Arsenal

    Fara Williams
Former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder on Disney+

I think the performance was good from Arsenal, and I know it was against weaker opposition, but you think about the game in round five, only scoring one in the first 10 minutes and not capitalising on it. They scored early in this game and they were ruthless after that. They had plenty oi chances.

I felt like they actually tried to go and get more goals when they didn't do that against Valerenga.

Chelsea defender Lucy Bronze speaking to Disney+ on automatic qualification for the last eight: "You put the work in now in the first half of the season and I think it saves you a little bit in the second half. It was definitely a tough game today, one of our hardest in the Champions League. Coming here to Wolfsburg has never been easy.

"Someone said it is the first time an English team has actually won here. So that's a good record to have finally cracked. Overall a really tough game. Both teams went really strong until the end and it was quite enjoyable to play in."

For Chelsea in terms of game load for the players, this is what Sonia Bompastor would've wanted. Two less games.

At half-time Sonia made some fantastic substitutions and it made an impact on the game, and it got them back in the game quite early. Tactically, she got it right in the end.

    Chelsea

Chelsea are now unbeaten in 24 consecutive group stage/league phase games in the Champions League.

Their last loss at this stage? December 2021 here at Wolfsburg.

Tonight's win means they are the first English side to win against Wolfsburg on German soil. Quite the way to cap off their league phase campaign.

Arsenal goalscorer Beth Mead, speaking to Disney Plus, said: "We know Leuven are a really hard team to break down so it's nice to get goals. We could've been a bit more clinical but happy to get the three goals.

"You get a lot of touches on the ball and for me individually I love doing that so it was a nice game to be part of.

"I was happy with my performance, happy to get the goal, played well and got the win. I know we have finished fifth so that has put us in a good position moving forwards."

  16. The final tablepublished at 22:04 GMT 17 December

Chelsea go straight through to the quarter-finals, alongside Barcelona, OL Lyonnes and Bayern Munich.

Arsenal and Manchester United will be seeded in the play-offs; one will face Atletico Madrid, the other OH Leuven. The English sides will be at home in their respective second legs.

If both progress to the quarter-finals, one of them is guaranteed to play Chelsea. That will be MASSIVE.

    FT: Wolfsburg 1-2 Chelsea

    Lucy Ward
    Former Leeds striker on Disney+

It was a great game from start to finish. I think Wolfsburg had the better of the first half and should've scored more than one.

They'll be rueing that and that allowed Chelsea to compose themselves, and get themselves on level terms. Then Sam Kerr does what Kerr does.

  18. Postpublished at 22:00 GMT 17 December

Sidebar to tonight - PSG have drawn at Benfica, it finishes 1-1 in Lisbon.

That means PSG finish second bottom of the league phase without a single win in their six games.

A truly abysmal European campaign for Mary Earps and co.

Chelsea made hard work of it at times but goals from Lucy Bronze and Sam Kerr proved enough to come from behind and take all three points at Wolfsburg.
