BERLIN--“Ordinary Life,” a Japanese-French animation co-production directed by Yoriko Mizushiri, won the runner-up Silver Bear Jury Prize at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival in the short film segment.

Titled “Futsu no Seikatsu” in Japanese, the film depicts motifs such as a womans hand wearing a ring and a dogs mouth with slow camera movements that evoke a soft sense of touch.

In the same category, “The Great Rabbit,” an animated film directed by Atsushi Wada, won the Silver Bear prize in 2012.

“Seaside Serendipity” directed by Satoko Yokohama received a Special Mention prize on Feb. 22. The film, titled “Umibe e Iku Michi” in Japanese, was entered in the Generation section for younger audiences.

The Golden Bear for Best Film prize in the feature length competition category went to “Dreams (Sex Love),” directed by Dag Johan Haugerud of Norway.
