Mother Studio was founded by Karie Reinertson and Laura Evans in 2022. With a combined 20+ years of design experience between us—spanning landscape architecture, textile design, interiors, and studio art—we currently focus on custom-designed and made pieces for projects, such as hand-painted tiles, bespoke furniture, sculptural lighting, and handcrafted textiles, all of which bring authenticity and warmth to every project. We believe that spaces should tell the stories of the people who inhabit them, offering beauty, comfort, and a true sense of belonging.

Our team works from the highest-level concept to the finest details, creating refined and deeply human spaces. We have a comprehensive approach: building thoughtful concepts that reflect each client’s desires and needs to transform them into real life. We do this through detailed collages, drawing sets, comprehensive schedules, budgets, and collaboration with architect and contractor partners. Our expertise extends beyond design, ensuring seamless project execution with thorough construction administration.

Our current and most recent projects include a new-build residential project in Martha’s Vineyard, the new East Fork Pottery store in Brooklyn, a 12,000-square-foot farmer’s cohousing project in Edgartown, Massachussets, and the renovation of a residence in Stonington, Connecticut.
