Bring Angela or Becca to Your Next Writer Event
We’re Angela Ackerman and Becca Puglisi, the co-authors behind the best-selling Writers Helping Writers® Thesaurus series. For over a dozen years, we’ve helped writers all over the world grow their storytelling skills through our books, blog, software, and workshops—and we’d love to do the same for your group.
Our presentation-style sessions are designed to go deep, unpacking the why behind each element that goes into creating authentic characters and rich storylines. We love seeing “aha!” moments. Whether we’re helping a writer pinpoint their character’s fatal flaw or discover a hidden theme, our goal is for everyone to leave with insight they can use right away and the ability to craft even stronger characters and stories moving forward. Our Speaker’s Brochure is available upon request.

[…] I first found their Facebook group first, but their website also has a ton of information for writers. Their blog has a lot of guest posts about writing, and they also offer workshops and other resources. You can find their home page with the rest of their offerings here. […]
Interested in having you speak via Webinar for our local writer’s group in California. We have about 200 members and as many as 50 might attend. Can you send information about your fees? Thanks.
Hi JT, I’ll send you our Speaker’s brochure via email; thanks for asking. 🙂

Hi Bill, often we do have a recording available for a limited time, yes. 🙂
Hello, Ladies!
I am the new Special Events Coordinator for Pikes Peak Writers in Colorado, USA
Will you both consider being guest speakers for “my” first event?
Available dates are: near the end of October or beginning of November, 2020. (I know, the holidays are fast approaching.) Yikes! Where did the year go?
We pay a limited honorarium to each presenter.
This will be via Zoom.
We’re hoping to hear about your newest book, The Occupation Thesaurus: A Writer’s Guide to Jobs, Vocations, and Careers. That said, I personally am needing help with all my characters wounded emotions.
I appreciate your talents and time!
Sending you a message!

I just love your books. I have several and they have been most helpful for me as I am a new writer.
I am a graduate of the College of St Elizabeth and an alumna name Pat Puglisi is also a writer. I was wondering if you are related.
Hi, Sarina! Thank you for the kind words, and welcome to the writing journey!. The road is long and winding, but with the kind and generous help of the other writers you’ll meet along the way, I know you’ll find it rewarding :). I don’t know a Pat Puglisi, but I guess we must be related at some level ;).
When the updates to the Nonverbal Communication webinar are complete, I am interested in attending/purchasing. Could you please include me in your list of interested parties?
Thanks!
P.S. – I love what you ladies have done with this site and the books. They are enormously helpful in writing, brainstorming, and in motivating me to get back to the keyboard to write some. Thank you for sharing all of your hard work with us.
Hi, Katie! I’m so excited to hear that you’ll be joining us for the next nonverbal communication seminar. We’ll definitely add you to the list and let you know when we do that one again. So glad to have you here!
I am interested in finding out about the cost of putting on either an in-person or webinar of Using Nonverbal Communication to Wow Readers. We are the Tucson chapter of RWA and I am exploring options for 2015 presentations. Our meetings typically take place the 4th Saturday of the month and the presentation portion of the meetings are usually 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon. Another alternative is to have a special event where you could have 2 1/2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the possibilities for a presentation.
Rose Ortiz
Hi Rose! I have sent you an email. Thanks for getting in touch!
Hi Angela,
Would you also mind sending me rates also. Looking at a webinar / video conference for a group of writers at a writing retreat down the track. Maybe about an hour however long you may recommend.
Thanks,
Louise
Hi, Louise! Angela is in Australia right now, speaking at RWA Australia and vacationing with her husband. She’ll be back in another week or two and will get back to you with her rates :).
