ALTOne of the things I value most about WordPress is that openness is built into everything we stand for.
That’s why I’m proud WordPress has signed the Open Weights and American AI Leadership letter. I believe the future of AI should be shaped by more people, not fewer, and open weights give people the freedom to understand, adapt, and build with these models.
The next generation of innovation won’t come from models alone. It will come from millions of people building with them.
More people, not fewer, should shape the future of AI. WordPress Executive Director Mary Hubbard shares why WordPress signed the Open Weights and American AI Leadership letter.
Have you learned something from contributing to WordPress? WordCamp Asia 2027 is collecting Contributor Stories, and you don’t need a polished piece to participate. A few paragraphs about what happened and what you learned are enough. You can also recommend another contributor whose experience others could learn from. https://wp.me/phbdcX-1SW

The PHP project has released fixes for 2 critical vulnerabilities affecting servers that host PHP applications. Site owners and technical teams should confirm their hosting provider’s update plan and update PHP immediately. Versions before PHP 8.2 no longer receive security updates. These issues are not specific to WordPress, and no WordPress update is required. https://wp.me/pZhYe-5Gb
