In Hungary, we usually don’t use decimals in prices, so we tend not to display them at all. However, in our setup, we had removed both the comma and the dot, leaving the fields empty — and that turned out to be the issue. 🙂
After fixing that, it’s also necessary to reconfigure the Free Shipping settings for everything to work correctly.

I do understand the workaround you’re suggesting, and technically it seems to solve the issue—but only by relying on a number format that doesn’t align with how prices are typically written in Hungarian. Using a comma as a decimal separator and a period for thousands is grammatically correct here, but in the context of WooCommerce, this creates a usability issue. Prices like “10.000” could be misinterpreted by users, especially in an e-commerce environment.
The reason I’m following up so persistently is that we also teach WooCommerce in Hungary, and this problem comes up repeatedly among our students and clients. It’s confusing, frustrating, and unfortunately, it undermines trust when free shipping fails silently due to formatting logic.
I understand this may be a niche issue from your global perspective, but it’s quite significant locally. I just wanted to highlight this not only as a user but also as someone who teaches and supports WooCommerce adoption.

Here, a comma actually has a completely different meaning, so using it this way can be confusing or misleading for users. 🙂

Since this plugin has been in place, we’ve never inserted it with code, just so everything is set up that way.
The next time I found a similar error, I’ll record it and post it to this post. 🙂
1. This was the first time I activated this way. I have never placed this code anywhere before. I just tried Google Site Kit, but always got an error.
