In reply to: [Advanced IP Blocker] Sharing my efforts to block the bots.Took a little break and made some adjustments and additions to the GitHub Page.
Obviously having a site that is based on WordPress the things I am creating are geared towards it but many will also work to help others who use CloudFlare as a CDN between their host. The major addition to the tools are and AI Prompt for reporting. Basically you can open up your CloudFlare Analytics and select a single IP address and then force CloudFlare to show up to 100 entries (the maximum on the free tier) expand one of the entries and also click show more statistics. Copy the whole page, I am a Linux user and former windows user so that is ‘Ctrl+C’. Paste the results ‘Ctrl+V’ in the AI that has had the prompt already setup and it will generate a report that can be copied and pasted into AbuseIP DB and also creates a report to send to the Host or ISP. It also creates an entry for a CSV that you can process manually but I am working on having something that will automatically store and check a database that will recommend an escalation to a higher tier if a host is not mitigating their bad actors.
I have been notified already by a couple hosts (AWS was the best so far responding in about 8 hours) that they have taken action. One of the reports I have generated has enough evidence to take a host completely offline which I suspect will be done in the coming days if it hasn’t already. They are using a tuta email account as their hosting account and are likely only in the game to harm others.
I figure it’s better to have a bad actor removed from a host or petition to remove a host who is allowing bad actors than to just keep playing the block game.
