I reported this as a feature request, and Yoast support provided the solution:
I think that you might have some malformed indexables in your staging site: this is possible because in past versions Yoast SEO would index in staging, too.
To reset your indexables you can use our Yoast Test Helper plugin: once activated, go toTools->Yoast testand click onReset Indexables tables & migrations.The good news is that this seems to have worked on our Staging site.

I’ve installed the update on my test site, and no warnings are being displayed. Fwiw, I’ve had to go back to PHP 8.1.17, because the imagick extension doesn’t yet work with PHP 8.2. I’m sure the fix will be fine in 8.2 as well, though.

It’s my first foray into PHP8, but I read on https://wordpress.org/news/2023/10/wordpress-6-4s-php-compatibility/ that they are recommending PHP 8.1 or 8.2 with WP 6.4, so I figured it was time to give it a try.
So I’m only testing on a local server, and I have deprecated messages turned on to see what’s happening.

Edit: I have just tried 5.7.0.1 and it hasn’t fixed the problem 🙁
