    hi,

I am using your plugin + WPML and enabled the URL-Monitor option.

Each language has its own domain:

    • example.com (english)
    • example.de (german)
    • example.es (spanish)

the problem is that all redirects are set relatively, causing the same redirect rule to apply across all domains and that makes many URLs unreachable (ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS).

the WPML support recommends to add the domains manually, see: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/redirects-for-any-language-domain-with-the-redirection-plugin/

in my case this is not a solution, because its a large website with about 200 redirects and more added almost daily.

do you have a solution for that? can your plugin add the correct domain automatically?

    thanks a lot,
    Jan

Why is it not a solution? In what way do you mean add the correct domain automatically?

hi John, thanks for your reply! 🙂

“In what way do you mean add the correct domain automatically?”
It would be good, if your plugin would 1. enable “Compare with: URL and server” and 2. add the domain automatically.

“Why is it not a solution?”
Because all automatically redirects need to be checked manually and until someone checked them, the contents might not be accessible (“ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS”).

But (update:) I found out that in the latest versions this already happens with most urls. The post on wpml.org is outdated.

I also might have found the reason for the redirect errors:

All product urls had the same slug:

    • example.com/produkt/
    • example.de/produkt/
    • example.es/produkt/

I changed that and did not find any wrong redirections after that.
