    I have a setup where the banner is set for EU + UK. For default consent settings I have two lines: one is for EU+UK and the other is for All. To test I set all to granted for all items. When testing in the US, wpl_user_preference gets set to no for all except necessary.

    How can I get wpl_user_preference to follow what’s listed in consent?

    This is all using the latest version of this plug-in.

    Hi,
    I believe the setting you have set to granted for all categories, is the Google Consent Mode setting. Google Consent Mode correctly follows whatever configuration what you set there. However, the categories that get stored in wpl_user_preference cookie are general cookie categories(used for visitor’s data storage and usage) and by law, only necessary cookies can be set to accpeted by default. For the other categories(Analytics, Marketing, Preferences and Unclassified), your site visitors need to explicitly grant consent, only then you can store and use their data.
