WPCode not showing up

    Hi.
    I have the problem, that WPCode isn’t showing up in the admin area of the website.
    Neither in the menu as an option to access the settings, nor in the list of installed plugins.
    When I search it under ‘add plugins’ it is shown as installed and active.
    I tried using ‘?wpcode-safe-mode=1’ and even ‘define(‘WPCODE_SAFE_MODE’, true);’ but that did nothing.
    I deleted the plugin folder from my plugins directory but it stayed as active.
    I even tried downloading from this site as zip and uploading it to the plugin directory myself in hope that the safe modes might work but nothing.
    Please help me get rid of the problem so I can use the plugin again.

    Hi @janschattling,

    Thank you for reaching out, I’m sorry to hear you ran into that issue. If you used the WPCode safe mode constant, and you still can’t see the plugin, the only thing I can think of is that the code hiding WPCode might be added somewhere else, not in a WPCode snippet.

    If you simply change the name of the WPCode plugin folder does that allow you to see the plugin in the list? does activating it with the new name still hide the left side menu item?

    I would first suggest that you change the password for all administrator accounts and remove any users you do not recognize on your site. That way, in case this was caused by someone accessing your site without you knowing, you reduce the chance of this happening again.

    If it’s possible to restore a backup since before this happened, that might also help, but you will have to change the passwords again.
