    Hello,

On our website, the highlighting of titles and excerpts in the search results works for all pages.
However, the highlighting parameter is missing for the front page results. When I click on the link to the front page, the words are not highlighted. Nevertheless, jumping to the words works.

Also, on all pages, the titles are highlighted in the search results, but not on the pages themselves.

Does anyone have an idea how I can fix this?

    Thank you!
    Alex

You can’t. It’s a WordPress restriction: the homepage cannot take the highlight parameter, it just won’t work.

Fortunately, home page is rarely a meaningful search results in the first place.

    Hello Mikko,

Thank you for your quick reply.

As for the other question, is it possible to highlight words in h1 titles on pages that one is redirected to from the search results page? We have only managed to highlight words within the_content(); but not in the title above.

Yes, but you need to replace the_title() in the template with relevanssi_the_title(). When Relevanssi added highlights to the_title() output, that lead to highlights in places where they shouldn’t appear, like navigation menus…
