• I installed the plug in in response to a gt metrix report stating that deferring the jquery would help.

I have created a gtmetrix account but I cannot get past the wizard step 2. The scan just keeps going with the blue bar but not ending.

    In the consoel I get:

Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 400 ()

DevTools failed to load SourceMap: Could not load content for https://bluestamptravel.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/assets/css/admin-bar.min.css.map: HTTP error: status code 300, net::ERR_HTTP_RESPONSE_CODE_FAILURE

I would really appreciate any help. I am by no means comfortable with much of the configuration of wordpress but interested in trying to speed up our site. This seems to be the most important action I can take.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Probably a problem in the communication between your server and the gtmetrix servers Steve.

I would try to set AsyncJS to “defer” with jQuery excluded, that generally is the best setting. Do test thoroughly to make sure nothing breaks.

Also; you might have to disable JS optimization in W3 Total Cache to ensure AsyncJS works.

    hope this helps,

Thank you for your help. I tried the settings you suggested and my site is running like it has been fitted with afterburners! 1.9s and some much improved scores on GT Metrix and Pingdom. (Although bizarrely it still lists the same items to be deferred as before?!)

I have run into one problem though. I have just been back to the Divi front end builder and I can only see the header and footer – no body. Could this be related? If so how do I edit pages now?

Any support would be very welcomed.

Maybe try disabling the option to also async for logged in users (admins/ editors)?
