• I have some questions about WordPress Accessibility.
    1) As I understand it, the WordPress platform is working towards WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Is there a list of the 50 criteria that the platform has actually is compliant independent of the theme and content?
    2) I am not sure if I can change the theme of this website, so the question also is there anyway of getting the list of the 50 criteria that the theme is compliant?

I realize that the content must be tested for compliance and that testing is independent of the platform. What I was hoping for was VPAT or ACR for the platform, so the content testing would be the only thing that needed to be done.

Let me know if this is possible or do all 50 criteria must be tested to prove compliance? Thanks.

  • Since you haven’t found any answer yet, I highly recommend joining the #accessibility channel on the official Making WordPress team on Slack.

There, you can talk directly to the people who build the accessibility features for WordPress. They are the most knowledgeable group and can give you the correct and up-to-date answers you need.
