version 4 custom templates
-
and how to use custom templates in version 4.0?
-
Hey @axr,
Thank you for contacting us and sharing more about your workflow.
I’m sorry to hear that Imagely 4.0.0 changes have affected your workflow that consisted in using custom templates, and I appreciate your feedback.
If you need to access the deprecated Imagely settings, follow these steps:
- Log into your WordPress dashboard.
- Add this query string to your website URL and press enter:
/wp-admin/admin.php?page=imagely-settings&tab=hidden - Your URL should look like this:
https://www.mywebsite.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=imagely-settings&tab=hidden
To enable the Legacy version of Imagely, toggle the button and refresh the page: Toggle Button Screenshot.
This will bring up the legacy admin options “NextGEN Gallery > Gallery Settings” from where you should be able to select a global custom template for the gallery display type.
Please note that these are deprecated Legacy settings, so support may be limited if issues arise.
I hope this helps! Feel free to reach out with any other questions.
Thanks!
Not working. I see legacy templates, but my custom templates are still not in list and causes error [Not a valid template]
Shortcode [ngg src=”galleries” ids=”1″ display=”basic_thumbnail” display_view=”default” template=”/var/www/kmcoru/data/www/kmco.ru/core/ngg/modules/photocrati-nextgen-custom/templates/gallery-custom.php”] doesn’t workHi @axr,
While custom templates are no longer officially supported in the latest version of NextGEN Gallery, for any custom template to be recognized moving forward, the file can be added into a child theme.
For example:
/wp-content/themes/twentytwentyfive-child/nggallery/custom_template.phpAfter creating a child theme, please create a nggallery folder and upload your custom template into it.
Once configured, when editing a gallery directly (or while editing Settings » Layout Settings) you’ll be able to select your custom template under the Legacy Template option.
I hope this helps, please let me know if you have further questions.
Thanks.
