• Hey, quick question. For a small team site, can I let admins use both editors while keeping Classic Editor as default for authors? Just checking if this is a normal setup or not.

    Hi @jaysonhodges,

    Yes, that’s a common setup. The plugin has no per-role option, but you can do it with a small snippet:

    add_filter( 'classic_editor_plugin_settings', function() {
    return array(
    'editor' => 'classic',
    'allow-users' => current_user_can( 'manage_options' ), // Only admins can switch.
    );
    } );

    Everyone gets the Classic editor by default, and only admins see the option to switch to the block editor.

    Put it in a small plugin or in wp-content/mu-plugins/. It works best there because Classic Editor loads its settings before the theme loads. Note that this also hides the
    plugin’s options under Settings → Writing, since the code now controls them.

    Hope this helps!
