Update plugin created bogus message

    I am on Windows 11 using the Firefox browser. I received an email announcing an update to the ‘Yoast SEO’ plugin.

    The Plugin “Yoast SEO” needs an upgrade (26.8 -> 26.9).

    When I logged into my website, ‘Update’ stated WordPress needed to update from 6.9 to 6.9.1.

    I selected update. The update completed, but I was directed to a new website address to observe results. Then I attempted to open the site in a private window to test the site and Firefox could not find the server. I opened the Chrome browser and the site was operating correctly. I returned to Firefox and the site was back to normal.

    Unfortunately, I did not capture screenshots of any of this as I was not expecting issues and after the update, things appear to be operating normally.

    Can anyone explain what happened?

    It sounds like you updated core and then checked the site in firefox

    In firefox, you could not view the site so you tried chrome and the site loaded ok

    You then tried again on firefox and it worked.

    This could be due to a conflict with your security conflict or issues with your cache

    If you experience this issue again, it would be worth clearing your cookies and cache?

    Have you recently updated firefox?

    Yes, I had updated Firefox from 146.1 to 147.0.2. I had hoped/suspected that the issue I observed was a one time occurrence since everything appeared to working as normal. If I experience this again, I will try clearing cache and cookies.

    Hi,

    The error you are getting is not uncommon after a firefox update (or with firefox in general).

    I think it’s a browser issue rather than anything to do with EUM
