Backups had been running and stored offsite until a few weeks ago, when I noticed I wasn’t getting emails of completion.

The log file shows that files are added to plugins.zip, but it never advances further.

I have disconnected it from offsite storage and just run it manually, but it still doesn’t progress. I don’t dare update plugins, etc. until I know I have a good backup.

WordPress 6.7.2, php v8.1.32, mySQL v10.6.21-MariaDB-cll-lve, PHP memory limit 256.0 MiB, PHP Max Script Execute Time 30s

I do get the message “Warning: WordPress has a number (25) of scheduled tasks which are overdue. Unless this is a development site, this means that the scheduler in your WordPress install is not working properly. Read this page for a guide to possible causes and how to fix it.” I did read the page. I would think running it manually would work? No?

I checked wp-config and did not see a disabled scheduler, nor a memory limit defined. Is that the same memory as PHP memory limit as shown above as 256.0?

Ok, it’s Godaddy, which I’m not happy about, and I’m trying to get them to switch, but some are resisting.

    Any ideas? Thanks in advance

    Hi Terry,

Could you please provide a backup log file using PasteBin or similar?
This will help us to identify any issues the backup process is having.

It will also help us understand if the issue is related to the scheduling.
You may want to check your error logs to see if memory is a problem.

If you see messages about ‘unable to allocate’ it indicates this issue.
256MB is not a lot of memory so there is a possibility it’s running out.

    Best regards,

    Hi Nick,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Today I was able to back up both sites that wouldn’t complete. I updated the plugin and voila! I don’t know if it was an issue with the plugin or a coincidence, but as long as it’s working, I’m happy!

    Best,

    Terry

    Hi Terry,

That’s no problem at all. I’m glad to hear things are working again and you’re happy!

    Best regards,
