Unable to Activate Plugin After Installation

    Just installed v 1.5.6 and get the following error when I attempt to Activate

    Fatal error: session_start(): Failed to initialize storage module: user (path: ) in /srv/bindings/818d60f75b4543d7963acde599403419/code/wp-content/plugins/wp-gdpr-core/lib/session-handler.php on line 22

    I had no problem with the WP GDPR core (v1.5.6) but I just bought the WP GDPR contact form database 7 plugin and cant get that to activate.

    Do you still have this problem?
    Have you tried to delete and reinstall the plugin?

    Hey Kim,

    I am still experiencing the issue even after uninstall/reinstall. WP is up to date w v 4.9.5.

    I even re-downloaded the package for installation in case there was an issue unzipping the first.

    Still seeing:

    Fatal error: session_start(): Failed to initialize storage module: user (path: ) in /srv/bindings/746bea3615664487a48039d90ca563db/code/wp-content/plugins/wp-gdpr-core/lib/session-handler.php on line 22

    Thoughts?

    Kim,

    Any additional thoughts or steps to try, I’d really like to install your plugin and get some of the add-ons….but not being able to install today is going to be a dealbreaker for us.

    FYI….v1.5.7 fails in the same way 1.5.6 did

    Hey 🙂

    This problem can be caused by php configuration. Please contact Your server administrator and ask him about session settings on Your server.

    We will keep digging how to solve this and avoid this problem in future.

    What specifically about sessions settings are we trying to find out and what action do we take based on the answer? Just asking about session settings without context doesn’t seem like it will solve anything.
