The excerpt for your site can be edited within the site editor to have as many characters as you’d like. You’ll need to be editing the templates for your site under Appearance > Editor and then you can make changes to the excerpt block for the specific template.
Thk for reply. help a lot. I forgot to mention this dont work in a single post. In a single post I add the excerpt … but there is not extending the number of caractheres…
What I try to do, is create excertp as intros, of article, and want to be in the part of article, after that the article himself… and i want that excerpt to be not on the homepage, but on the article himself. try to test and see if any good for SEO this strategy, and see how excerpt work, if is worth the effort to write individual or let wordpress take the frist words and do is own thing…
So just to clarify – you’re trying to have an introductory section which is only in the single post – and not in the excerpt that is shown on the homepage and archive pages?
One approach to this would be to write custom excerpts for each post – and that will be used instead of the character count.
I read that section already. I cant extend the number of words, characthers at all.. i try in functions as well. not manage. I want this modification to reflect in single post .. i write for each post custom excerpt (there are as a intro for the article).
