Hello,
I am not spamming. I am just wondering and asking only if i am wrong. I am using Theme Twenty Twenty and there changed the URL while working on it. Maybe i put the wrong headline in this forum, but i am not a specialist on WordPress. I am an old german lady asking for help. Please dont be angry!
The Edit changed from :
/wp-admin/site-editor.php?postType=wp_block&postId=97343
to
changed to:
/wp-admin/site-editor.php?postType=wp_block&postId=97343&canvas=edit
Am i wrong? ( I dont use theme or plugin canvas)
Thank you for your HELP!
Best regards

Hello @guckmada!
The Twenty Twenty theme does not support full site editing (FSE). When using themes that support FSE like Twenty Twenty-four, the URL will have site-editor.php in it. The &canvas=edit at the end of the URL though, is not from the theme or plugin canvas, but it’s when you’re using a theme that supports FSE and you’re on the site editor. However, this may be added in the URL if you’re using a plugin that might be introducing FSE-like functionality or modifying the editing workflow. Plugins that enhance the block editor or introduce site-wide customization options could cause this behavior.
To test, temporarily deactivate all your plugins and check your post URL. When you activate one plugin at a time, check the post URL to see if anything adds the &canvas=edit in the end.
Do the two URLs display different post content? If they don’t, you can leave it as it is and not worry about the URL.
If they display different post content, please share more details: when you click on a post to edit, was the initial URL /wp-admin/site-editor.php?postType=wp_block&postId=97343? Did you take any specific action that caused &canvas=edit to appear at the end of the URL?
Hi Kel,
thank you for your help! I only use Twenty Twenty theme and plugins like wordfence, bps, litespeed cache. Nothing else. I like to keep it simple.
The URL to edit the post is /wp-admin/post.php?post=97343&action=edit
And when i search for a post it is /wp-admin/site-editor.php?postType=wp_block&postId=74786&canvas=edit
I dont know why this makes a difference.
THANK YOU!

Hi @kel-dc,
thanks for your support and time!
&canvas=edit is still shown when i edit my own pattern.
When i try to edit by the origin url => /wp-admin/site-editor.php?postType=wp_block&postId=xxx – the pattern is not shown to me.
When i search for the pattern by number (example => wp-admin/site-editor.php?postType=wp_block&postId=79163) there are no results.
Best regards
