Subscription Value Field

Hi,
I am using the subscription service portion of jetpack and want to get rid of the value field that shows up in the form. Right now it says “Email Address” and you have to select the text and then delete it and enter your email address.

How can I remove the value=”Email Adress” html? There is already a placeholder on the form and I do not see why the value is included.

Is there a functions snippet I can use to get rid of this?
