Hello @readysite
I think this assessment is a bit incorrect, if you don’t mind me saying. The purpose of these demo templates is to showcase how Blocksy plays nicely with other citizens from the WordPress world, as well as to give you inspiration for your next website.
It is expected that demo templates also install plugins, as they are required to create that demonstration. This is also valid for any other theme’s demo templates, as most of them use additional plugins to create the website.
In essence, a theme’s job is to provide the foundation that you build your website on, with options for layout, colours, typography controls and so on. The page builder (the plugins that you are referring to) is separate software that may or may not be provided by the same company as the theme is provided.
Let’s take any theme that uses Elementor for their demo templates – disabling Elementor on import would not import any of the demo content, which is fully expected. I wouldn’t say that this is inconvenient at all, since this is simply how these systems work.
If you wish to build your own content, with your preferred page builder, simply choose to not import the content when importing the demo and you’ll be good to go. 🙂
Hope this clears everything up!
