I am experiencing an SMTP authentication issue on my WordPress website.

    Website domain: https://bistglobal.com
Form email address used for SMTP authentication: form@form.bistglobal.com

I am using the WP Mail SMTP plugin with the following configuration:

    Mailer: Other SMTP
    SMTP Host: form01.doruk.net.tr
    Port: 587
    Encryption: TLS
    Authentication: ON
    Username: form@form.bistglobal.com

The hosting provider (DorukNet) has confirmed that the email account is active and the password is correct. I am also able to log into the email account directly.

However, when sending a test email from WP Mail SMTP, I receive the following error:

    “SMTP Error: Could not authenticate.”

Could you please advise what might be causing this authentication failure?

    Thank you for your support.

    Hi @arzu94

Please kindly note that the error message is returned by your SMTP provider:

The error “SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host” you get, usually means an issue with your SMTP credentials or some error during the authentication process.

It is critical to make sure you have the right credentials. When you get a chance, please double-check the password you’re using with the SMTP connection to be sure it’s correct.

You can then test your server credentials in an isolated environment to discard/confirm any local issues on your site. This SMTP test tool would do the job.

Please let me know how it went.

    Hi @arzu94 ,

We haven’t heard back from you in a few days, so I’m going to go ahead and close this thread for now. But if you’d like us to assist further, please feel welcome to continue the conversation.

    Thanks!
