When our plugin is activated, you can’t change the SKU for any product? This plugin doesn’t do anything with the SKU field. Did you mean the GTIN field?
Hi Nate!
Take a look at this video: https://youtu.be/ehjt8eKdlYY
It seems like the GTIN field overwrites the SKU field when the SKU field is set as the GTIN field in the plugin configuration. LOL, I hope I explained myself, but it’s easier to see the video.
Ah, yes. Thank you for the video and explanation.
I never thought about someone using the SKU as the GTIN, but I suppose it makes sense. I just released an update to 2.6.7 which fixes the issue for you. Now, if you choose _sku as your GTIN field, then it doesn’t add an extra text input on the inventory tab.
Please update and give it a try now. Thanks.
Does Google recognize SKU numbers in their API for product reviews? I had asked about a month ago using MPNs instead of GTINs, and was told GTIN is the only accepted value at this time.
Thanks
Stephen
SKU is not a globally recognized format. Anyone can use their own “stock keeping unit” for their products. MPNs are also not something they can clearly differentiate. Google only still accepts GTINs for product reviews.
