SFTP support

    Hello,

    I’m currently working on improving the security and performance of my web server and noticed that BackWPup does not support SFTP transfers.

    In 2025, SFTP is widely considered the standard replacement for FTP/FTPS. Could you please tell me if support for SFTP storage is planned on your roadmap?

    Hi,

    Thank you for bringing this up. SFTP has definitely become a preferred choice for secure transfers, so your point makes complete sense.

    We do not have SFTP support available right now, but I have added this to our internal feature requests and will highlight it to the team so it can be considered seriously for upcoming versions. I cannot give an ETA yet, but it is now on the list and I will update you as soon as I hear anything concrete.
