scheduled post editing

Is it possible to add “Edit scheduled posts” right to the user role?

right now, scheduled posts are not drafts so they are counted as “published”, which forces a full “allow editing published posts” right to the role.

Also, there are areas in the post that might be sensitive, is there a more fine tuned version that will let someone only edit content, but not metadata?
