On our website we have a sign up for newsletter form which is not working properly. When filling out the form im getting “Please select at least one list”. So i was double and tripple checking but in the form settings there is the right audience from mc selected.
However i noticed when i was trying to change some settings i saw that i am running into a

    “Proxy Error

The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
The proxy server could not handle the request

Reason: Error reading from remote server

So my assumption is that there is some underlying issue with the connection from wordpress to mailchimp

What could be the reason for that?

    Hi,

Can you please show me a fullscreen screenshot of that error screen, including the URL bar so I can see exactly where you are in our plugin settings?

    Thanks!

    Hey @lapzor

The URL is in this step is /wp-admin/admin.php?page=mailchimp-for-wp-forms&view=edit-form&form_id=1714&tab=settings
    This is the error:
    https://ibb.co/0Rmmg79d

It happened for example when i tried to uncheck the “Drehmoment” audience and save the changes:

i still can’t see the context of the error… is it on a all white screen?

do you get any error when saving settings in any other plugin in WordPress?
what kind of hosting set up do you have?

As far as I can tell this is not an error generated by our plugin, so it is likely related to your hosting server’s firewall?

Yes i get redirected to a white page only showing the error.

With other plugin settings i do not have problems changing the settings, but i think the few plugins that are installed are not communicating with 3rd party for setting changes either way.

The site is hosted on a Hosting Basic setup on strato.

Is the firewall issue something common for that? I’ll look into it

Can you please ask your hosting provider about this error?
If they can’t help you can get back to me and we can investigate this further.

I talked to our hosting provider to find out whether the issue is firewall related or to some other server side configuration but they said from server side everything seems to be fine.

The connection is also not completely broken, for example i can renew my audiences and i am able to see when there are new subscribers.

But somehow the form does not work it always says “Please select at least one list”, but in the form settings, an audience is clearly selected. When i want to uncheck the audience and safe the setting for testing purposes i run into the proxy error.. So weird
