• I’ve discovered that my external affiliate links for a specific organization are no longer working on my two websites. The link to the page you need help with is just an example. The links are in many posts on both websites. I’ve now signed up with a different affiliate partner for the same organization (Flixbus has switched from Travelpayouts to AWIN). I have many Flixbus affiliate links (these are external links) on my websites, and I want to change them all at once with a redirect (redirection plugin) instead of adjusting them blog by blog, but it’s not working. The link isn’t redirecting to the new affiliate link. So, these are external third-party links that need to be adjusted because the links (in this case, affiliate links) have changed. I’m hoping this can be accomplished with a simple redirect instead of having to visit every blog to adjust things. How can I do this with the redirection plugin?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

A redirect affects a URL on your site, not links to external sites. If you want to update links to external sites then you’ll need to use a tool like Search Regex to replace all occurrences.

Hi John, thanks for your reply. I installed the Search Regex plugin, but it’s not working yet. I’ve added a few screenshots of how I entered it, but when I look at the front-end, the redirect isn’t working, and I still don’t see what I’m supposed to see: the page the redirect is linked to. I hope you can read the screenshots.

I don’t see any screenshots. Search Regex is not for redirecting, it is for changing data. Based on your original message it seems like you want to update content on pages, not create redirects.

I have blocks on my websites called “Tips for your trip to …” with affiliate links, such as at the bottom: https://jtravel.nl/nederland/bollenstreek/foto-s-bollenstreek-29-april-2022/. It says “Bus” with an affiliate link: https://flixbus.tpk.mx/iqFlnKeN This link no longer works because Flixbus switched from one affiliate organization (TravelPayouts) to another (AWIN). Now, I want to change the affiliate links to https://tidd.ly/46qnpmE (this is an AWIN shortcode). I want to change this with a redirect from https://flixbus.tpk.mx/iqFlnKeN to https://tidd.ly/46qnpmE. I tried it for the Bollenstreek category, but the links in the blocks haven’t redirected. How do I change this without having to edit each article?

Is there anywhere I can see which links have already been changed in which article? I hope you understand what I mean.

Sorry, the screenshots couldn’t be attached.

Do you own flixbus.tpk.mx? If not then you cannot redirect it. What you want to do is update the links in your posts. This is not a redirect and you do not need (and in fact, can not) redirect anything.

You must update the links in your post, whether manually, or using another tool as I’ve already mentioned. Redirection is not involved here.
