HI Bianca,
thank you for your question and great to hear you’re trying out Gutenberg — and glad you like Block Designer!
While it’s not possible to reuse the entire block directly, the element tree of one block can be copied to another. Simply select the topmost element and then copy it with Ctrl+C (Windows) or ⌘+C (Mac). Then, create a new block in the other project using the Block Designer and paste the copied element tree there with Ctrl+V (Windows) or ⌘+V (Mac).
I hope this helps. If you have any further questions, please let me know.
All the best,
Helmut
PS: Just in case you’re interested: I released another plugin last month that you might be interested in. It’s still very basic and offers only a little help for creating your own custom block themes: https://wordpress.org/plugins/theme-designer/ just have a look if you want.
This is a great addition, because I just realised (beginner’s mistake….) that I can’t use my previous theme “just like it is” and without major adjustments in Gutenberg… 😀
So… I need to do some further preparations first and go with the classic theme in the meantime. But “I’ll be back” 😉
Hehe, all right 👍 In principle, it is also possible to use the Gutenberg editor with a classic theme, but only for the page and post content and not for the theme itself (header, footer, etc.), which is known as full site editing. But you can first convert the content to Gutenberg and then create a new block theme and then switch to the new theme.
I wish you much success! 😉
