Hi @jackiecard
I’m glad you reached out. I’d be happy to help.
Based on the screenshot you shared, you are seeing a “Could not copy file” error. This typically happens for one of two reasons:
- File Permissions: Your server doesn’t have the necessary “permission” to overwrite existing files in the Kadence Blocks folder.
- Disk Space: Your hosting account might be reaching its storage limit, preventing the new version of the plugin from being “unpacked” and saved.
To get the update completed successfully, please try the following steps:
- Check Your Disk Space: Log into your hosting control panel and ensure you haven’t exceeded your storage quota. If your disk is full, the update will fail every time.
- Manual Update (Recommended): If permissions are the issue, a manual update is the most reliable fix:
- Download the latest version of Kadence Blocks directly from WordPress.org.
- Go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin in your WordPress dashboard.
- Upload the
.zip file you just downloaded. WordPress will ask if you want to “Replace current with uploaded.” Click yes!
- Clear Caches: I noticed in your screenshot that you’ve already purged some caches, but after a manual update, it’s always a good idea to clear them again to ensure the new files are being loaded:
I hope this helps. Let me know if we can assist you further.
Best Regards,
Archita
