Passkey bumping
-
Hello,
I am really thankful that you integrated passkeys now, as already said. I am experiencing the following behavior:
In the log in window to the admin backend I click the button to log in with a passkey. Then the window changes to only the username field and this I fill, then pressing the log in with a passkey-button. (I think up to here it is the normal process.)
Instantly I see two error messages and despite that the Windows Hello request for the fingerprint appears (the regular behavior). Then I give the fingerprint, but it does not log in.
When I repeat the process, I can log in – just like it should be.
The error massages obviously seem to react faster than Windows Hello can react and they prevent the log in, I think. Perhaps they could be a bit more patient, then everything would be fine… 😉The picture is but not consistent. On one website the process (always done as described) works fine, on three sites not. Consistent is but the behavior per website.
Error messages:
Website one:
“Authentication ceremony was sent an abort signal
The authenticator was unable to process the specified options, or could not create a new assertion signature” – second trial successfulOn another website:
“Authentication ceremony was sent an abort signal
The operation either timed out or was not allowed. See: https://www.w3.org/TR/webauthn-2/#sctn-privacy-considerations-client ” – second trial successfulOn a third website only:
“Authentication ceremony was sent an abort signal” – log in with the first trial here successful.
Perhaps you can improve the process using these informations. Thanks.
