Hello! This is regarding Hello Elementor Pro, Woo Commerce webpage

I am developing for a quote-based company and I am looking for plugins that allow for custom fields for variable products. The store is quote-based, so edits have already been made to the functions.php file to make sure the price isn’t shown – however I have still yet to find one that allows for text/radio input for variable products. The metadata should preferably be sent along with the add to cart button.

Any suggestions for custom code (I have cPanel access) or any plugins to recommend?

Sorry if I don’t make any sense as this is the first time I’m developing.

Also, it said that some checkout fields are required per state requirements. I also can’t add or remove custom fields?

Is there any workaround to this?

    Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out, and no worries at all—you’re making perfect sense, and we’re happy to help!

From what you’ve described, it sounds like you’re building a quote-based store and are looking to collect additional input (like text or radio button selections) on variable products, with this data sent along when the product is added to the cart.

While WooCommerce doesn’t include this functionality out of the box, this type of customization typically falls outside our support scope, as it involves theme or plugin development. That said, here are some options you might consider: Plugin Suggestions

    You could explore plugins like:

These plugins allow for adding extra form fields (text, radio buttons, etc.) on product pages, and many support variable products and pass metadata to the cart and checkout. About Checkout Fields

If you’re seeing a notice that some fields are required due to state regulations, it’s likely being enforced by another plugin or customization. WooCommerce allows editing checkout fields using custom code or with plugins like:

If you’re unable to add or remove checkout fields, this may be due to limitations imposed by your theme or another plugin. In that case, I’d recommend testing with only WooCommerce and a default theme (like Storefront) active.

If you need more in-depth support or want to consider professional assistance for customization, I can recommend WooExperts and Codeable.io as options for getting professional help. Alternatively, you can also ask your development questions in the  WooCommerce Community Slack as custom code falls outside our usual scope of support.
