We’re aware of this issue with line breaks in the notification email editor in WPForms Lite after the 1.9.8.7 update. This will be fixed in the upcoming update. In the meantime, using <br>tags as you’ve done is a good temporary workaround.

We have released WPForms Lite 1.9.9.2, which includes a fix for this issue. Please update the plugin to the latest version, and you should find that line breaks work as expected without needing to manually insert <br> tags.
If the issue continues even after you’ve updated to version 1.9.9.2, we have a developer guide with a code snippet that can help resolve this permanently.

Thanks. That hasn’t fixed it. I don’t want to add code to the site when I can easily insert line breaks – I don’t spend much time creating forms, so it’s only a minor irritation.

While the update fixed this for most users, we have seen some specific cases where the issue persists. In those rare cases, the only permanent solution is indeed the custom code snippet mentioned in our developer guide.
However, I completely understand your preference! If creating forms is an infrequent task for you, manually inserting the <br> tag is a perfectly valid way to handle it if you’d rather avoid adding custom code to your site.
