• I’m looking for a plugin that shows recent posts from all sites in a network. WP Recent Posts is soon going to be incorporated in a new paid plugin that will merge several plugins of the author.

According to their description, it should also work with https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-latest-posts/. I haven’t tried it myself.

I thought you were talking about https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-recent-posts/? Thats another one.

my bad. That other one doesn’t have a network function. It’s quite disappointing that the built in WP function has no network options. As a matter of fact, all these years since MU, WP has offered almost no network options. It’s just multiple websites on one installation, but no integration whatsoever.

I found this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-popular-posts/ – maybe you can change the view from “popular” to “latest” with a hook. I would recommend asking their support forum.

Otherwise, the only option would be to develop it yourself or find someone to do it for you. Since the plugin you’ve been using is open source, you (or someone else) could also fork it and continue to maintain it. If you need help with this, you might find someone here: https://jobs.wordpress.net/

I’ve been trying a few things and ended up with pulling feeds from the different websites, but that resulted in nothing but problems. I also tried that popular posts, but I can’t make it do what I’m after. I’ve also been looking for shortcode plugins, no luck so far. I hoped somebody had thought of something I haven’t.
