    Howdy!

    Ran into something new today: As mentioned in another thread, I made a site on our multisite network called “simply-static-settings”, and set what I want our default export settings to be here. Then I went to another site, imported the settings, and did an export. It looks MOSTLY right, but with one critical issue: the site’s theme CSS or other assets (like images) weren’t there!

    I figured it was related to the settings site and the real site using different themes, but it took me a while to understand how to muck with the UI to get things to work properly. Let me explain:

    The “Settings” site uses a theme called Discovery.
    The “Real” site uses a theme called Kayak.

    When I looked at the simply-static option for the real site, it included this:
    “themes_to_include”;a:1:{i:0;s:13:”ext-discovery”;}

    This is what I would have expected when initially importing the setting, as I assume it largely just copies over the settings from the “Settings” site. However, the UI on the real site says:
    Themes to Include: Kayak (which IS the current theme and the theme I’d like to include)

    Saving the settings screen does not update the setting to the one that’s shown in the UI. The only way to get it to update is to click the X to remove the currently shown one (even though it’s correct) and then add it back.

    So…. suggestions to consider
    1) On importing settings, swap out the theme to the current theme (or at least adding the current theme)
    2) ADD the currently active theme when importing settings
    3) Make the UI properly reflect the setting value in terms of which theme(s) to include
    4) Make the UI at least set the shown theme value on save (without hitting the X and readding it)

    @madtownlems good suggestion!

    There is even more to it as there are more settings that shouldn’t be imported (temp dir, local dir, Basic Auth – just some examples out of my head).

    I’ll create a ticket for us. I don’t think we can fit it into the next release with BF/CM madness incoming, but I’m happy to work on that once it’s over!
