• Dear all,

I am using a local Matomo installation and have configuered the WP DSGVO tools to inform users about this usage.
My understanding of the checkboxes related to web statistics was that if I deselect the “technically required” (technisch notwendig) setting, Matomo is considered as a platform where the user actively needs to consent being tracked.
I enabled the cookie popup and the option to ALWAYS show it and gave the visitors the chance to enable / disable even technically required integrations.
Once these settings were saved, I tried to load my page in another browser to test the different settings. My expectation was that if I disallow Matomo tracking, the Matomo JS code shall not be loaded and executed. However, the code is loaded and my visits are tracked independent of the visitor’s choice.
Can anyone else confirm this (major?) bug?
