Losing settings

    We are finding that when we make changes to a role’s permissions they revert to default just a couple of days later. Are you able to help?

    We are also finding that a specific role “Editor” will randomly lose permission to access the backend.

    I’m sorry to hear you’re running into this issue. The Members plugin is designed to save these changes permanently to your WordPress database, so they should not be reverting to default on their own.

    When permissions revert after a period of time, it usually points to a conflict with another plugin or a specific theme setting that “resets” roles. To help us narrow this down, could you please provide a few more details?

    1. Version Info: Which versions of WordPress and the Members plugin are you currently using?
    2. Role Providers: Are you using any other plugins that manage user roles, or perhaps a security plugin that might be “protecting” or restoring default roles?
    3. The “Editor” Role: For the Editor role losing backend access, are you using the “Deny” capability on any specific permissions, or are the “Allow” permissions simply disappearing?

    A quick troubleshooting step: If possible, try to temporarily disable other plugins and see if the changes stick. If the roles stay put while other plugins are off, it confirms a conflict is occurring.
