Lazy Load Facebook Feed?

    Hello!

    Can you guys make the plugin lazy load facebook and twitter feeds widgets?
    It really kills the page to have to send all the external http requets to facebook from the beginning of the loading of the site, since the widget can be put to the footer.

    Pleas let me know.

    Hi @catmaniax

    If the feeds are created using iframe then lazy load will apply to it – That is how we use it in our client work to stop all the external http requests made by the facebook and twitter feeds – positioning the widget below the viewport on first load is important – here is an example of one of our web clients site – tested in pingdom tools – we put the facebook page plugin script created as iframe in a text widget in footer – it loads nothing in first load tests

    That’s great, thanks for the link.

    However, I do not know how I can put the Facebook feed inside an iframe, is there an easy way to do it? Can you please point me to the right direction on how to achieve that?

    You can configure and get the iframe code for your Page Plugin from facebook from here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/page-plugin
