If the first rule applies, no further rules are checked. Because a post can have only one featured image. And this is set when the first rule applies.
I dont think you understand, if I have one image for one post category and another image for another post category it always assigned the correct image to the respective categories. It always worked, now it doesnt.

What happens if you delete the first rule? Is the second rule then applied?
What happen before it stopped working? Did you do an update?
Yes, If I delete the first rule then the second rule is applied.
This is a new site but when I used it on other sites I was able to have a rule per category.
I’m sorry, but I can’t help with this problem. In general, the function works. I have no idea what could be the reason for it not working.
So can I confirm that you cannot have a second rule for post categories even though you have selected a completely separate category?
Delta: I’m not getting the save error
As I have already written: If a rule applies to an image, the following rules are no longer applied. Until then, all the rules are run through.
Yes, and that makes sense but why is the second rule not being applied to a second image on a completely separate category. This is what I am asking!!? It worked fine before!
I can only repeat myself: As you write, it basically works. The fact that it no longer works must be due to your individual installation or configuration. Unfortunately, I can’t check this and have no experience as to what could be the cause.
I have just setup a clean install of WordPress to test and I created two additional categories and the plugin didn’t work at all. So I setup another clean install on another server and did the same thing and again none of the featured images were being added to the relevant categories.
I then added another different image to the ‘Uncategorized’ category via Quick Featured Image and this time, the image applied there appears in all posts no matter of the category selected. So the issue is something to do with the Default Blog category.
I still can not reproduce the issue. Maybe I understand “I created two additional categories” wrong. Please provide additional screenshots of your settings (previous pages) so I will try to reproduce it.
If you have a look here at this screencast https://komododecks.com/recordings/MxdkFgTb76vBvNwGkzyh you will see the issue I am having.
If I leave the default blog to ‘Uncategorized’ neither rule is applied.

Any resolution to this yet???
On another note. Why were my posts deleted from this thread???
Actually no resolution yet. They asked a question I responded with a screencast detailing the experience I was having and they never bothered to watch it. I guess they aren’t interested.
By the way I didn’t delete your posts. There was you and another person posted comments also but they seem to be all gone.
Can I ask who you are hosted with just to see if its a hosting issue? Try to resolve this ourselves. I’m with Siteground.
