I wish to create a forum where people need to upload pdf files to discuss on them.

Is it risky to allow pdf upload in forum ? If yes, is there any recommended plugin that scans the pdf files while they are being uploaded for malware etc.?

Hi,

Please check out the wpForo Advanced Attachments addon. It uses the spectral extensions to determine what file types can be uploaded. Additionally, it checks the file types to allow only PDF uploads, preventing other files from being uploaded.

My question was regarding the security for allowing pdf file upload and how to make sure they do not have any malware etc.

If you use the wpForo Advanced Attachments addon, you don’t need to worry about malware; it prevents any from being uploaded.
