First of all, thanks for such a great piece of software that is ASE!

I’m aware this isn’t a fault in ASE, but I noticed that when using ASE’s menu editor it works just fine except for the ‘hide’ toggle when a site also uses the uiXpress plugin (which provides a modern look to the admin panel). That is, the reordering and renaming of menu items are fine, it’s only the hiding of menu items that isn’t working with uiXpress enabled.

uiXpress also has its own admin menu editor but I am not using it, I’m aware I can’t have two plugins doing the same job.

If you could take a look at this I would be thankful, but if there is nothing you can do about it, I will be thankful as well 🙂

@denisgomesfranco thanks for reporting this. I do not have a license for uiXpress, so can not investigate this. In this case, you can probably also say that the way uiXpress works is interfering with how ASE’s menu editor work, so, it’s probably valid to open a support ticket with uiXpress help desk.

Curious… any reason why you prefer to use ASE’s menu editor?

Hi @qriouslad , thanks for replying. I’ll try to talk to them as well but their development is a bit slow and their support isn’t very good.

As for the menu editor, I found out that ASE’s is faster and better for the initial menu customization. I still don’t understand why ASE won’t let us rename *all* of the items though 😅

Also, I like to implement functionality on sites according to a certain logic. Since ASE is now concentrating many of the functions I need, then it makes sense that it also takes over the admin menu. So if I decide not to use uiXpress anymore, or change to another way to customize the look and feel of the admin panel, then I can make that change easily knowing that I won’t have to redo the admin menu customization.

@denisgomesfranco I see. That makes sense. Thanks for explaining. Hope you’re able to get some insight / help from uiXpress support team.

Certain menu items like ‘Pages’, ‘Settings’, ‘Tools’ are part of WP core and best kept as is. Users expect to see them as such, and they’re already translated into different languages.
