@mattrock1 Try “MRK Search Exclude” – Switching to this plugin resolved all of my issues.
@mattrock1 We’re not sure we fully understand the issue. Could you please explain in more detail what you mean by a post being deleted?
@jmatiasmastro sorry for the confusion. Post being deleted was in reference to my reply to another post with the same issue. It was deleted by your support team with request to start my own thread. Which is where we now are 🙂
@jaythomas No offence, but if it’s not in the repo, it’s not getting installed on any of my sites. Cheers.
Hi @mattrock1,
Ok, we’ll continue with your case from this thread. From what we understand, the issue may be that some pages excluded from search results are becoming visible again. Could you please confirm if this is the case?
To better understand the issue, please record a screencast (screen recording) showing the problem. You can easily do this using http://www.loom.com and share the link with us here.
Best regards,
QuadLayers Support TeamApologies for the late reply. Yes, that is the case.
I don’t know how/why a screencast capture is possible or would be of any help (vs a screenshot). One day the post is hidden. Another day it’s visible. How would one capture that?
We understand that the issue doesn’t occur constantly, but unfortunately, without being able to see or reproduce the problem, it’s almost impossible for us to identify what’s causing it and provide a proper fix.
If recording a screencast isn’t possible, could you please share a staging site (temporary test environment) where the issue can be reproduced?
Best regards,
QuadLayers Support TeamHi everyone,
We understand the reports about excluded posts becoming visible again, but with the current descriptions it’s very difficult for us to identify the cause or reproduce the issue.
We’ve tested several exclusion setups on our local environment, and the exclusions remain saved over time — they don’t reset.
To help us narrow this down, could you please let us know if the problem started after updating from a previous version to the latest one?
This information will help us check if the issue might be related to the update process or data migration between versions.
Best,
QuadLayers Support Team@mattrock1 @jaythomas Additionally, does your hosting use any form of object or persistent caching, such as Redis, Memcached, or a similar system?
