    Hi all

    A little help please.

Our nonprofit is using the free version of GTranslate.

It is great for our basic translation needs, but we have noticed a potential data regulation breach problem. The translation cookie and the translation are active before a visitor gives cookie consent for our site. This is obviously in breach of GDPR and other regs.

Therefore, how is it possible to create a situation where the GTranslate cookie is not active and the site translation cannot take place until after cookie consent is given by a visitor please?

    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi,

You will need to use a cookie consent plugin which should handle it properly, please consult your cookie consent plugin support.

You can also use our paid version, which doesn’t use cookies: https://gtranslate.io/#pricing

    Thanks! 🙂

    Hi there.

If you had looked at the site provided, you would have noted that we are using a cookie consent plugin. The issue is that the GTranslate plugin seems to circumvent or jump ahead of the permissions of all other cookies, and is loaded and active before visitor consent is given.

We are interested in knowing how to stop GTranslate’s cookie, and deny access to translation, until after consent has been given.

Are you saying that the cookie consent plugin is at fault, despite the fact that it works on every other cookie except yours, which is a Google cookie?

It is disappointing that your paid versions are too expensive for nonprofits and you do not offer discounts to nonprofits.

    Hi,

You need to consult your cookie consent plugin which is responsible for intercepting all cookies.

We do offer discounts to non-profits.

    Thanks! 🙂

Thank you we will reach out to them.

However, it is interesting that your Google cookie is the only one not to be blocked until after consent.

Your chat just informed us you do not offer discounts to nonprofits.

    Thanks.

I have found your conversation with our live chat and I see that our support agent offered you a non-profit discount.

    Thanks! 🙂
