Gallery does not render from shortcode

I’ve created a custom post type called Projects and added a single test post. I’m using a generatepress block element with query loop added to a hook of a single page to test. I can pull the post title and content but the gallery doesn’t render. I’ve tried adding the shortcode to the post content of a page and that also fails to render. All plugins have been disabled and switched to 2024 theme but still no gallery. The closest I can get is returning the attachment IDs as plain text using a generateblocks headline w/ dynamic data.

But the fact the gallery won’t render with 2024 theme suggests it’s not an issue with Generatepress/Generateblocks.

Can you advise please?
