First-time configuration error

    Hello,

    I’m experiencing a JavaScript error when opening Yoast SEO → General → First-time configuration.

    The error in the Chrome console is:

    TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'finishedSteps')

    The stack trace points to Yoast’s general-page.js and React Router.

    My WordPress and Yoast SEO Free installations are fully up to date.

    I have already:

    • Reset the First-time configuration progress using Yoast Test Helper.
    • Confirmed that Yoast SEO Settings works normally.
    • Confirmed that the WordPress REST API works.
    • Checked the Network tab in Chrome; admin-ajax.php requests return HTTP 200.
    • Asked my hosting provider (DreamHost) to check for server-side blocks or permission issues. They found no such problems.
    • DreamHost also checked the database and said the relevant configuration data is correct.

    The problem only occurs on the First-time configuration screen.

    Could you please confirm whether this finishedSteps error is a known issue in the current Yoast SEO Free version, or whether there is a specific API/response that the First-time configuration screen expects but is not receiving?

    I would prefer not to reinstall Yoast or modify the database because I want to preserve the existing SEO data.
