Facebook feed does not update
-
Greetings,
I recently discovered your plugin for Facebook feeds and installed it. Initially I was delighted to have found a possible solution to an ongoing problem we have in pointing web site visitors to our latest FB info, particularly the weekly church service feed.
The first hurdle I encountered was that the free version is _extremely_ limited, to the point that it barely demonstrates the product at all. Of the 7 templates and 9 feed types, only 1 of each is available for testing. That’s exceedingly limited I was considering using your “unconditional 14 day money-back guarantee” to give me the ability to check the other options, but that feels a bit underhanded to me.
But to the point of this post: in using the free version, I have encountered a problem wherein the page does not update unless I go into the backend and “fiddle” with the feed options, such as clicking the “clear all caches” button, or simply “editing” the feed and clicking “Save”. I checked the forum and found many posts describing the exact same issue…

https://wordpress.org/support/topic/facebook-feeds-not-updating-automatically/All of these pages are from about 1 year ago. Is it possible you have not resolved this issue by now? I’m running the latest version of WP, PHP, and (I presume) your plugin, since I only downloaded it 2-3 weeks ago.
I thought about opening a support ticket, per your advice in those other threads, but before I do that, I wanted to find out whether you consider this to be an ongoing issue that is only resolved by using the Pro version. And… do you consider using the 14 day guarantee to test the plugin a fair way of conducting a more thorough trial? I’m not adverse to buying the Pro version, but I would like to know for certain that it is going to resolve this issue before I do.
Also, in one (or more) of those threads you suggest adding ‘cache=60’ to the shortcode, but I’m using the block editor. So I switched to the Code Editor and changed the block entry to read:
wp:smashballoon/facebook-feed {“feedId”:”1″,”cache”:”60″}
Am I correct in thinking that will have the same effect?The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]
