    Apologies for re-opening a question. But still stuck… πŸ™

    I was looking at https://wordpress.org/support/topic/feature-request-to-exclude-posts-from-taxonomies/

and the latest release. It sounds like I should be able to do it. But I still cannot see a way to exclude all posts of a given category from a loop.

I have 4.0.1 installed. I see Filters allow CATEGORIES and I can include the one/s I wish to show. But not an inverse. Add a category I wish to exclude.

Is the idea/solution to add all categories to the inclusion except the ones we do not want to show?
That would be quite an effort as we have about two dozen categories at the moment. But I do not see alternatives yet.

Or. Is there any related documentation I could peek at?
    Thank you in advance!!

ps – this plugin should be part of the core WordPress installation. What a great implementation!

Hi. I’m just another user, but I just learned how 5 minutes ago:

Click the Query Builder button, select Categories as a Taxonomy, and then type in the Category you want to explcude, then click the button “Exclude these terms from the query”.

    It’s quite simple IMO.

Brilliant. I am not sure how I missed that.
Thank you for the follow up!

I would prefer if the “Terms” section has a drop down to easily select the category/tag to exclude instead of the user having to type them out.
