• I get the message The link you followed has expired
Google recommends using an incognito window but this does not fix the issue.
I can see that the wrong Google ads account has been connected with this site and is probably resulting to the reason why Google have suspended all ads and also blocked Merchant Center.
This is a critical issue that needs to be resolved for our ecommerce site running WooCommerce

Thanks for reaching out @wicko. When you mention you encounter a message stating The link you followed has expired, was this by any chance during Site Kit set up? If so, please attempt to set up once more, or share where you’re seeing this message. You can share a recording of your experience using a service such as Loom or Zight, while using Site Health info form to share this privately.

In relation to the wrong Ads account being used, when using Site Kit you can edit your Google Ads settings anytime, and change the connected Ads account.

Let me know if you have any questions with the above. Thank you.

Site kit was setup but I could see it was connecting the wrong Ads account. I had to remove completely and reset from scratch and then it was able to complete.
Unfortunately was not able to use the Ads option in Site kit to fix this and had to totally remove Google Analytics connection and reset it from scratch. Google Search Console and GTM remained the same and I didn’t have to edit them.
I do think part of the issue is down to Google Ads and Google Merchant Center really messing things up and breaking connections between each other. At any point a new ads account is used then the whole system breaks and suspends the entire account.

Thanks for the update @wicko. I wonder was this based on the Google account used to initially set up Site Kit, not being associated with the Google account used for your preferred Ads account? If setting up Site Kit, you’ll need to use the same Google account associated with the Google Ads account you wish to use.

Do let me know if you have access to that Google Ads account with the Google account you used to connect Site Kit. Given that any WordPress administrator can also set up Site Kit after it has initially been setup and configured by another, one possibility is to use another administrator account to connect Google Ads within Site Kit. That could be a solution if the issue is related to your Google account, and that differing to the Google account in your preferred Ads account. Another possible solution is to grant access to your Ads account to the Site Kit connected Google account.

Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately we’re limited to Site Kit specific help here, but the product experts over at the Google Ads Help Center should be able to assist further on this.

Let me know if you have any questions with the above. Thank you.
