error in connecting to staging

    Hello,

    i am making a new page, i am at a stage where everything is set up, all i need to do is to sync the users.

    both sites are at cloudways on the same server, i cannot get the production live site to connect to the staging which has cloudwaysapps.com url.

    the staging is ok with incoming and outgoing action, while the live site keeps throwing the error

    Error contacting the remote site: an undefined error occured, Please make sure the address is correct and try again.

    On the remote site, please make sure the plugin is activated and that permalinks are up to date by visiting the permalink settings page.

    ip of the server is whitelisted on both ends, permalink have the same structure, what did i miss?

    is maybe cloudways blocking this? because as soon as i move the staging to my domain url, it works.
